Quside FMC 400 is the commercial name of the first quantum randomness module marketed by Quside Technologies SL, a spin-off from the Catalan Institute of Photonics (ICFO).

Based on Quside’s patented phased-array quantum random number generation technology, the company offers unique modules and chipsets to deliver high performance and exceptional quality.
and exceptional quality. Quside has developed Quside has developed a technology to assess the quality and performance of unpredictable random number generation, known as “Randomness Metrology”. This enables the creation of next-generation products and services and complements current hardware with stronger key formation for cryptography or high accuracy for random computations, such as
such as Monte Carlo simulations.

The Quside FMC 400 has been specifically designed for high-performance FPGA-based systems. The technology is based on Quside’s patented phase diffusion quantum random number generation technology. The module provides 400 Mb/s of raw random numbers.

Quside’s quantum randomness modules are designed to integrate directly into high-end cryptographic and computing systems to improve performance and security. Whenever any information is sent online, it travels through a variety of network equipment and data centres until it reaches its destination. Protecting this data along its journey is critical, which means we have to make sure that all elements of the security chain are designed in the best possible way. The task of Quside’s quantum randomness modules is to improve a historically challenging element of this security chain: random number generation. Or, in other words, the generation of the cryptographic keys that are used to encrypt the data. This is particularly important as new methods of quantum cybersecurity are being invented that require better and faster random numbers.
