Thanks to their ability to handle huge amounts of data, quantum computers will enable disruptive advances in fields as diverse as engineering, computer security, biomedicine and economics.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Quantum computing is based on the principles of the superimposition of matter and quantum entanglement to develop a different computing from the traditional one, totally disruptive, capable of performing a multitude of simultaneous operations<\/strong> and eliminating the tunnel effect that affects current programming on a nanometric scale. This new generation of supercomputers takes advantage of the knowledge of quantum mechanics (atomic and subatomic particles) to overcome the limitations of current computing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Quantum computing has a clear application in cybersecurity<\/strong>, thanks to advances in data encryption, such as the new Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) system for sending sensitive information, which uses light signals to detect any intrusion into the system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This technology has also been supported by companiesdedicated to financial services<\/strong>, as they will be able to improve the optimisation of their investment portfolios, the simulation of stock market evolution or the detection of fraud.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Where today’s computers require billions of years to solve some of the most complex problems, quantum computers could find the solution in just minutes, hours or days.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

The health sector<\/strong> will also benefit from advances in quantum computing, in terms of their application in the development of new drugs and genetically personalised treatments, as well as in DNA research, as quantum computers will be able to create, simulate and model molecular structures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the mobility and transport sector, quantum computing is already being used to design more efficient aircrafts, to improve traffic planning systems and to optimise routes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Helping to advance in materials\u2019 science, boosting the chemical industry, optimising artificial intelligence… the list of applications where quantum computing has a place is only growing<\/strong>.
