Photonic technologies currently have multiple applications in the field of medicine, such as the detection and treatment of diseases, biomedical imaging or advanced surgery. Their great portability at low cost and the guarantee of sterilization provided by light, gives them a strategic position in the health environment.<\/p>\n
Photonic-based devices such as microscopes, tomography or endoscopy occupy a strategic position in the health\u00a0sector nowadays. Medical imaging, biosensors, laser therapies and therapeutic LEDs play a major role in early cancer prevention through the use of non-invasive methods and improved treatment. Photonic technologies, due to their great portability at low cost and the guarantee of sterilization provided by light, will allow better medical care in places where it is not yet available.<\/p>\n
Innovation Workshop<\/strong><\/p>\n After a first sectoral workshop<\/a>\u00a0co-organized by secpho<\/strong>, Hospital Germans Trias i Pujol<\/strong>\u00a0(HGTP<\/a><\/strong>), member of our\u00a0Open Innovation Club<\/a>,<\/strong>\u00a0and the\u00a0Germans Trias i Pujol Research Institute<\/strong>\u00a0(IGTP<\/a><\/strong>) of Badalona (Barcelona), we now face an innovation workshop focused on\u00a0providing\u00a0innovative technological solutions to specific challenges.<\/p>\n This workshop is embedded in the framework of the\u00a0European\u00a0programme\u00a0DIGI-B-CUBE<\/a><\/strong>, that\u00a0provides grants and support to innovative SMEs to develop prototypes, customised products and services to tackle digitalisation challenges within the health sector<\/strong>, across the Bioimaging, Biosensing and Biobanking industries.<\/p>\n It will be a\u00a0unique opportunity for health professionals and researchers of health research centers to establish synergies with industry companies and photonics professionals<\/strong>\u00a0who can bring new perspectives to research projects and, together with the health approach, provide comprehensive and very competitive solutions in the market.
