Three Spanish universities (UB, UAB and UPC) and the Institute of Photonic Sciences (ICFO) are leading an extensive program of master (MSc) in photonics degree in the Barcelona area. It is the Master in Photonics – EUROPHOTONICS that has a strong international component, serving as a pole of attraction for talent.

The statistics from 2013 to 2016 show its contribution (around 40 students per year) and its impact as a source for specialized talent and channeling that talent to businesses in our ecosystem which is highly appreciated. It is remarkable to know that:

• 92% find work or start a doctorate during or immediately after finishing the program;
• 55-60% of students stay in Spain at the end of the program, either working or doing their phd, which affects greater competitiveness of the local business community.
